WESTLAKE & TERRY
Design to Start Your Engines!
The design at the Westlake and Terry office building was inspired by various modes of transportation. There’s a propeller that actually spins, mounted to faux painted backdrop with a writable finish that allows staff to scribble messages on the wall. The spoke wall screams vintage, with multiple hubs of layered metal spokes from a classic car, and the tire wall is fabricated out of fire-rated cast fiberglass and finished to look like actual tires laid out in an intricate pattern. The innovation wall – the one departure from the transportation theme – uses industrial tools and parts to create a unique 3D mural. Lastly, the wayfinding, much of which is comprised of floor graphics, was inspired by floor markings found on roads, airports, and industrial assembly lines.
